Summary

Whistle! features a young boy named Kazamatsuri Shō who transfers to Sakura Josui Junior High in hopes of being able to play on the soccer team as his old school, Musashinomori, held him permanent reserve due to his small stature. Katori Yuuko, his homeroom teacher and the soccer club adviser, mistakenly introduces him as a former regular of Musashinomori, the reigning regional champions. Being only a reserve member, however, he was unable to live up to their misguided expectations and was ridiculed for his supposed deceit. Despite this, Shou attempts to mend his relationships with the soccer team and, through hard work, endeavors to be the player of great skill that he had once been mistaken for despite his height disadvantage.
